Troubleshooting: Internet Connection
When guests encounter an internet connection issue, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
Check Maldives Public Wifi: First, try to connect to the Maldives Public Wifi on your own phone to determine if it's a guest device issue or a problem with our building's connection.
If you can connect to the Maldives Public Wifi on your phone, it may be a guest device issue.
If you can't connect on your phone either, it could be an issue with our building's internet connection.
- If it's a guest device issue, and your device can connect but the guest's device cannot, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
Forget the Wifi and Reconnect: Ask the guest to forget the Wifi network on their device and then attempt to reconnect. This often resolves connection issues.
Reboot the Device: If the issue persists, instruct the guest to reboot their device. Restarting the device can help resolve connectivity problems.
If both of these steps do not resolve the issue, provide the guest with access to Smart Devices Wifi with the following details:
Wifi Name: Smart Devices
Password: MDsmart4017
- If it's a building internet issue, follow these steps to reboot the routers:
For Maldives Public:
Locate the routers: There are 2 black TP-Link routers located on level 6 and 15, in the electrical room opposite the lifts.
Reboot the routers:
Simply unplug the power cord from each router.
Wait for a few seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
Locate the router: The router is situated in the electrical room on the ground level.
Reboot the equipment:
Unplug the power cord from the router.
Wait for a few seconds, and then plug the power cord back in to reboot the equipment.
